Imported timbers
Kwila, Batu, Merbua and Belian are species of timber that ten years ago none of us had even heard of but now they are becoming increasingly more common on our building sites.
WHY???
Maybe our frame and truss plants are just becoming creatures of habit.
What is wrong with supporting the Australian hardwood industry?
Surely the beauty and durability of Stringybark, Ironbark, Spotted Gum, Blackbutt and the countless other sustainably managed Australian species outweighs the need for these imports.
Go Aussie and support our local industry.
